Irene Hansen Savarese has a Masters degree in Psychology from
Copenhagen University in Denmark, where she also earned Authorization
from the Danish Board of Psychological Practice in Clinical Psychology.
Through
her work at Counseling
Centers,
Psychological Clinics and Psychiatric
Hospitals
in Denmark and Florida, she has experience in counseling of clients
with a wide range of issues including eating disorders, domestic
violence, anxiety, depression and parenting.
She
also specializes in personal
empowerment,
relationship issues and crisis
intervention.
Irene uses solution focused, psychodynamic and cognitive
behavioral
narrative approaches to counseling where the client's problems are seen
in social contexts.
Irene
has created an effective personal empowerment program that can
be applied to individuals, couples, families and groups. It's an
excellent tool for personal growth and self-examination.

In her work with children,
adolescents, adults and elders she strives to restore self-respect by
focusing on appreciating the clients strengths and abilities and
bringing the best of what they already have to the future.
Irene believes that connecting to Self and others is the most important
issue in psychotherapy. Apart from individual, couples and family
therapy Irene also offers a personal empowerment program focusing on
dreams and visions, and creating concrete steps to take to live a more
empowering life.
